Loft Details

This loft base is designed to fit our 2x2 lofts using the portal grids which allows a recessed ramp. The main advantage of this is so that the ramp doesn't extend too far into the cage and is also safer for the guinea pigs. It also creates a nice cosy secure loft space.

When using Portal Grids, which you do need for this type of loft base, you can use one for the base (essential) and then another portal grid at the front of the loft. This allows a door/tunnel to be formed whilst covering the rest of the open space. This makes it much safer. You are able to use a regular grid panel as well if you wish.

This base comes with DOUBLE RAMP access though we do also have a SINGLE RAMP access loft as well.

Base Details

Made from high quality 4mm and 700gsm correx/coroplast, Cage Creations correx bases are the highest quality available. These are pre-scored and cut by professional machinery ensuring clean and precise folds. Supplied with velcro coins to secure the corners.

Our correx bases are waterproof, sturdy and easy to assemble. With a wipe clean finish they are easy to maintain and keep clean. When using a high quality fleece liner, such as those supplied by CandE Cosies, liquid shouldn't reach the base. However, with lower quality wadding based liners or for those who use woodshavings then an easy clean base is essential.

  • Velcro coins supplied for securing the corners safely and securely
  • Genuinely 4mm thick.
  • 700gsm - this is the "weight" of the correx. Aim for over 600gsm though the higher the better.

So glad I found this company

The loft is spacious, sturdy and very easy to assemble with ramps. The material is good quality. I have been looking for this exact product for a long time. We have two sassy guinea pigs, who liked to show their dominance by blocking our previous single ramp, as the loft is their favourite napping spot. Now there is always access to and from the loft for both guineas. Perfect.

My piggies love it!

I had searched high and low for a loft liner that was bigger than 1×2ft and finally found it. I have two rather chonky piggies and they couldn't both fit in the smaller loft. They're quite large furry potatoes.

Now i've got this, the loft is now called the piggy penthouse. It's big enough for a cuddle cup and snuffle mat or whatever you want to put there. The ramp fits to it perfectly and it came with little velcro tabs to hold the corners together.
I am so glad I found this company as I've saved myself so much money but have got much better quality than anything else available 👍

Many thanks for your enquiry. To make use of the recessed bases you will need at least one of the Portal grids though ideally 2. One is positioned on the supporting grid base where the ramp is to be located and the other is on the front facing section of the Loft area over the ramp like a doorway. I hope this helps.
